The first edition of a bicycle race took place in Panatau, in September 2015, thanks to a lot of volunteer involvement. One of our very loyal Romanian volunteers, Daniel Busuoic is a bicycle enthusiast and he was our source of technical guidance and know-how in preparing the competition. Our friends from Outward Bound offered helmets for the children. Our EVS volunteers, Luca, Bruna si Jone were by our side – but even more importantly, we were very happy to see young volunteers from the local community participating actively alongside the international volunteers. These volunteers were highschool students at a nearby highschool, having been inspired by Marina Bratucu, their physics teacher who also helped out voluntarily.
