Volunteer with us in Romania this summer!
Come and join our team in Panatau this summer as a volunteer! Our EVS volunteers, Jone and Bruna have been busy planning interesting activities for the children in our local community. Already this month, together with a team of three Romanian volunteers they organized a children’s festival at the Fountain of Hope.
They have also been working at our AMURTEL Social Garden creating a mandala mozaic from tiles in the gazebo, constructing paths and helping out with the farmwork.
Next month – we plan to help redecorate the Panatau “cultural hall” for the local community (painting murals), and we will be organizing a bicycle race in the first week of September, as well as another edition of our “Children’s Festival.” We also organize outdoor movie screenings and discos for the children during the summer, and some ecological cleanup activities and other fun programs!
Volunteers involve the children in the planning, implementation and evaluation of these events – providing them in this way with valuable life-skill experiences in a fun and rewarding context.
We are looking for volunteers willing to offer their talents – whether in creative areas like art, music, theater or in more practical areas like gardening, organizing events, improving communication skills, fixing bicycles, etc. Volunteering with children is extremely rewarding and offers an opportunity to explore new talents and interests while making a difference in a disadvantaged rural community.
We can provide housing to only a limited number of volunteers, so please be sure to fill out an application and send it in if you would like to join us.
*Please note that volunteers are asked to donate enough to cover the cost of their own food expenses so that it doesn’t create pressure on the food budget allocated for the children.
It is a fulfilling way to spend part of your vacation time and experiencing the Romanian countryside – a beautiful way to witness a traditional European rural lifestyle that is still alive and authentic!
