AMURTEL Bio Garden invites you to an Open House program on Sunday, 9 Octomber 2016 between 11:30-16:30 in Poieni, Buzau County.

AMURTEL Bio Garden is a social enterprise that uses the “community supported agriculture (CSA)” model.  This concept is based on a solidarity partnership directly between the consumer and a small producer, without intermediaries to receive a weekly delivery of vegetables.

Since 2012, Gradina Bio AMURTEL has been delivering a weekly box of fresh, seasonal, organic vegetables to a group of 30 clients in Bucharest, as well as to the twelve children living at AMURTEL’s centrul de plasament Familia AMURTEL and the fifty children that get hot meals at Centrul de zi “Izvorul Sperantei”.  Those that enter into this solidarity partnership with the garden thus have the unique satisfaction to be sharing the harvest with disadvantaged children and youth!

This weekend, on Sunday October 9th, the Garden is hosting an “Open Day” program to give an opportunity for the consumers, partners and other nearby producers to meet with the team, tour the farm and get to know the children that are supported by the project.   There will be a “Bazaar de Toamna” with produse confectionate by the children, and other suprises!

Since 2016, through the  “Biofood for all” project, Asociația Prietenia and AMURTEL are developing a long term strategy for improving the production and distribution of organic vegetables. They also have benefitted from Swiss expertise through courses in biodynamic agriculture that trainers from Sonnehalde Association have offered through the project.

The “Biofood for all”  project is co-financed by Switzerland through the Swiss Contribution to the enlarged European Union.
